Hey all,
So I was updating the site after Week 10 and I looked to see when Carnduff & Southey have their rematch and I noticed that it is in Week 13 but Carnduff is the visitor again. All divisional games are supposed to be home and home games, and that's NOT for just 1 of the teams.
I looked as to how I could fix it quick as it's too late to alter the entire schedule, but if I simply switched Rob & David's designations then Carnduff would end up with 8 home games and only 6 visiting games & Southey would've had 8 visiting games and only 6 home, which is not fair to them or the league. I looked at a couple of other ways of fixing it, but couldn't really come up with anything.
I discussed it with both owners via a group email and they both agreed to leave things the way they are. Carnduff won the 1st game as visitor and David said that he didn't feel Rob's Slammers were going to give him much of a problem getting another visitor win anyway, so it was really a moot point...
...no, he didn't really say that, but I knew he was thinking it, so someone had to say it!
Anyway, this is one of the reasons why I tell you guys to double check your schedule after it is released. I do triple check it, but clearly this got past me. The most important thing is that every team has 7 home and 7 away games which did happen. The 2nd most important thing is that you guys all have 1 home and 1 away game vs. your division rivals. I will try and incorporate something next season for ensuring this doesn't happen again. I know that this year some of you had 4 or 5 games in a row as the home or visiting team. It is unfortunate, but it takes a LOT of work to ensure that doesn't happen and I am not willing to put in all that extra time for free, when only the aforementioned points are the important ones and they can be done in a matter of minutes.
This is not the perfect solution, but it is the one all involved parties have agree to, hopefully we can all use this a lesson on what to look for next season.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a reply below or contact me directly. Thanks.
